How Learning Works

The same four-stage delivery model behind every classroom-based course, at every center.

1. Classroom Learning

Structured theory sessions covering the core concepts for each trade or course.

2. Hands-on Practice

Skill labs and on-the-job style practice so learning translates into real capability.

3. Assessment

Structured evaluation against national skill standards before certification.

4. Certification Issued

Learners receive their course, NCVT or B.Voc certificate on successful completion.

RPL Follows a Different Path

No classroom time — RPL certifies skills you already have, in five steps.

1. Application

Share your work experience and role details for skill mapping.

2. Pre-Assessment

Your skills are compared against national occupational standards.

3. Assessment

Hands-on evaluation and a structured interview with an expert evaluator.

4. Gap Check

Optional upskilling recommendations if any gaps are found.

5. Certification

Successful candidates receive an official, digitally verifiable RPL certificate.

Education FAQs

See the full FAQ page for more.

Who can enrol in a Udyogvikas Kendra course?
Anyone in a district we serve — students, working professionals and homemakers — can enrol. Course eligibility (age, education) varies by program and is confirmed during counselling.
Are the courses certified?
Yes. Courses are aligned with national frameworks such as NCVT, NAPS/NATS and RPL, delivered under the UdyogVikas Skills Council umbrella, and result in recognised certification.
Are all courses free?
Some programs are offered free of cost, while others (like certain B.Voc or specialised courses) may have fees. Your district center will clearly share this before enrolment.
I already have work experience — do I need to sit through a full course?
Not necessarily. If you have relevant hands-on experience but no formal certificate, ask your center about RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) — a 5-step assessment path to certification without fresh classroom training.
What if a course isn't available at my local center yet?
Your enquiry stays with your district center, and you'll be notified as soon as that course track is available — either locally or through a nearby center.
